The pain I had been experiencing for months following my reconstructive ankle surgery was not identifiable by my surgical team in the CT scans, so I printed my foot to show them. The 3D reconstruction allowed them to visualize the progressive collapse of my talar dome as a result of the surgery. This failed surgery eventually led to my below-knee amputation in 2017.
